Amansala is Sanskrit named after the peaceful crystal clear waters of Tulum, and to this day it is still one of Tulum's most iconic, eco-chic boutique hotels. Amansala was founded on the belief that a true vacation is one where you come back looking and feeling better than when you arrived.
We are a full service resort that puts equal emphasis on indulgence as it does on the restoration of the mind, body and spirit. We believe in creating an experience that centers around the natural beauty and resources unique to Tulum. We use natural materials and resources to create simple yet beautiful rooms, a menu full of fresh delicious food and an atmosphere that feels more like staying at a friends beach house than a hotel.

Meet the founder and CEO Melissa Perlman
Her love for what she does is reflected in everywhere from the details in the rooms, to the music playing in the classes, the food served in the restaurant, and the well selected staff she hires.
She feels blessed to have found her life’s calling which combines her love of fitness, food, the beach, design, people and self development. Her warmth is contagious and she often says she feels like she is having one continual dinner party with amazing people coming week after week.
She is a mother of two and resides with her family in Tulum where she continues to be hands on in making Amansala the special place that it is.
“[Amansala is a place] where people come to rejuvenate their minds, spirit, and body. After realizing that New York was making her feel even more isolated from friends and family, Melissa left the Big Apple after six years in a cramped apartment after hearing about Tulum from a friend. There she learned Spanish, started a family, and has succeeded as a savvy hotelier — but not without some setbacks.”
